Vacuum the coils twice a year
Amana condenser coils are easy to reach behind the kickplate. Dust on them shortens compressor life.

Check door seals with the dollar test
Close the door on a dollar bill — if it pulls out easily, the gasket needs replacing.

Don't overload the washer
Overloading strains the belt and bearings. Keep loads to three-quarters full.

Defrost when frost exceeds a quarter inch
Unplug, empty and let the freezer defrost overnight. Many no-cooling calls are just ice blockages.
